Paradigm Shift
Isaiah 3:4 "And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them." I never looked at this scripture other than literal face value...so I assumed this was something to happen in the future. Today, the High Council speaker (also talking about the 'Good, Better, Best' talk) said this is already happening when we put our children in too many activities. Then their activities 'rule' our time. He even went so far as to say it is a tool of the adversary to make us think that we should have our children in every activity their peers are in, when reading the scriptures, FHE, temple attendance, and service to others gets put on the back burner so that we can shuttle the children to yet another activity. It was definitely a shocking thought.

I feel like our kids are in a lot, but then I feel like everyone around us is in way more clubs and sports than our kids. It's tricky finding a good balance when you have a lot of kids, but prayerful decision making is the key.
Something to always be concerned about. Heidi's family didn't have money for any activities growing up. I think we will just do one or two a year per kid
